300 Series/Austenite

This is the most common type of Stainless Steel (300 series) which makes up over 70% of the total Stainless Steel production/usage in the world today.

Type 304 is the most versatile and widely used type of Stainless Steel in the market place today. 

Type 316 is the 2nd most common grade of Stainless Steel. The addition of molybdenum prevents corrosion. 


400 Series/Ferrite & Martensitic Chromium Alloys


400 Stainless Steels generally have better engineering properties then austenitic grades, but have reduced corrosion resistance.
